What to expect
Your Sessions
Sessions are typically 50–55 minutes and are available in person or online. Your first session is a chance to meet your counsellor, talk about what brings you to counselling, and discuss what you’d like to work on.
Your Counsellor
Counselling at Acacia is provided by final-year PBC counselling students completing their practicum placement. All student counsellors receive regular clinical supervision.
Who can receive counselling at Acacia?
Acacia is open to PBC students as well as people from the wider Perth community and across Australia. Our student counsellors are trained to work respectfully with people from a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs and life experiences.
Fees
- PBC students: Free
- Community clients: $40 per session
- Concession rates are available
Location & Hours
Acacia has counselling offices located within PBC at 1 College Court, Karrinyup WA 6018.
Both in-person and online appointments are available Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm. Online appointments may also be available outside these hours.
Confidentiality & Supervision
Your privacy is important to us. Sessions are confidential, with some exceptions related to safety and legal requirements. As a training service, sessions may be observed or recorded for supervision purposes only with your consent.
